First he raised eyebrows by arriving at the Pussycat Dolls Lounge with Cacee Cobb, personal assistant to his ex, Jessica Simpson. After taking in Pamela Anderson's appearance as a Pussycat Doll, Lachey, Cobb and friends moved over to Pure's main room, where they occupied the VIP section that features oversized white beds. Lachey was furiously text messaging just before Entertainment Tonight reporter Vanessa Minnillo arrived about 2:30 a.m., about 15 minutes after Cobb left. When she joined Lachey, the curtains were closed, adding fuel to the reports that their relationship has been heating up. They were recently seen dirty dancing at a New York club and dining with friends the next night, according to published reports. Minnillo, a former Miss Teen USA who briefly lived in Las Vegas as a child, met Lachey when she appeared in his upcoming video. Anderson, throwing white roses into the crowd from her ceiling swing during her Pussycat Dolls performance. When she danced on stage, audience members tossed money at her, which she gathered and placed in the G-string of several Pussycat Dolls. When she wasn't performing, Anderson sat with friend/photographer David LaChapelle. Also in the crowd: Haylie Duff, Hilary's sis. Paris and Nicky Hilton made a loud and stormy exit from Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, irate that Paris' 19-year-old boyfriend was not allowed to enter. The Hilton sisters returned Sunday night and apologized to Pure management for their behavior, a club executive said Sunday.In Monday's column, I stated that Paris and boyfriend Stavros Niarchos joined her family at Pure, where Nicky Hilton and her boyfriend, Kevin Connolly, were hosting the New Year's Eve celebration on the terrace with her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton. Niarchos was in a group of 30 that included Paris when they arrived at Pure's entrance about 3:30 a.m. "But he was definitely, 100 percent not allowed in the club," said Steve Davidovici, a partner in Pure Management Group. Niarchos flashed a fake identification card but was recognized and turned away, several insiders said. Paris Hilton was to host the New Year's Eve party at Tao nightclub, but she stayed with Niarchos in Tao's restaurant, where she did the midnight countdown instead of in the nightclub. She and Niarchos were seen entering Tao nightclub about 12:30 a.m. and were also seen together Sunday night at Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel. |

Recent photos of a curvier Spears have been raising speculation that baby No. 2 might be on the way, but Spears wasn't behaving like a mommy-to-be Tuesday while celebrating her husband's 28th birthday. Spies said she had at least one cosmopolitan martini during dinner at Tao (The Venetian) before partying on amaretto sours and Dom Perignon champagne until 3 a.m. at Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace. Most mothers-to-be don't drink alcohol during pregnancy. But then again, most mothers don't hold their infant son in their lap while driving (a recent incident that has raised questions about Spears' parenting skills). The 24-year-old Spears, who put her pop career on hold to start a family, danced on a VIP bed at Pure and nuzzled with hubby Kevin Federline throughout the night. In addition to his birthday celebration, Federline was reported to be in town for a nightclub appearance as a warm-up for the release of his first studio album, "Off The Record." It is set to be released April 25. Jamie-Lynn Sigler of "The Sopranos" and seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, at separate tables at Spago (Forum Shops at Caesars) on Tuesday night. It's so hip, they're 'humbled' at Pure. They're in a state of pure joy at Pure nightclub. The cavernous Caesars Palace club, which opened on New Year's Eve, was listed as No. 1 on E! Entertainment's "20 Hippest Hotspots" show, which aired Monday night. Las Vegas had five clubs among the top 18, and three in the top 10. The Palms' Rain was ranked third, Light at the Bellagio was seventh, Body English was 13th and Mix at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay was 18th. Pure beat out Bugalow 8, the exclusive club in New York City. "We're humbled. It couldn't have happened without a team effort," said Judy Odierna, club spokeswoman. The team includes managing partner Robert Frey, along with Shaquille O'Neal, Celine Dion and Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff, all of whom Frey brought in as investors. |

The credibility of VIP escort Vanessa Hulihan, however, was under question late Thursday after a Hard Rock Hotel executive branded Hulihan's story a "fabrication." Hulihan says she was with Spears' husband, Kevin Federline, throughout last weekend in Las Vegas. "I was with Kevin 18 hours a day Saturday and Sunday," said Tommy Lipnick, a member of the Morton family-owned Hard Rock Hotel. "She wasn't even in the same building. She's coo coo for Cocoa Puffs." Hulihan, 30, e-mailed me Wednesday "to tell my side of the story" but twice canceled meetings on Thursday because "everyone's freaking out" in Spears' camp. Hulihan is the same woman who was in Federline's company back in January, a visit that ended with Spears flying in to meet him after he was spotted at the Spearmint Rhino strip club. "All I really wanted to say was that Kevin and I are friends," she wrote in an e-mail to me. "Yeah he's a hottie but he's married." US magazine reported that Hulihan was spotted sitting on Federline's lap at Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace last Friday. Hulihan, in her e-mail exchanges, said, "the information is somewhat wrong." It looks unlikely," said a Pure insider. The former Miss Kentucky USA, who turned 21 on Monday, was to host the evening from the VIP stage, which features oversized white beds and white drapes. Trump, who operates the Miss USA pageant with NBC, is preparing to make it official today that Conner is a goner. Pure Management, seeing no downside to the publicity bonanza, continued to negotiate with Conner's reps as late as Monday. It turned ugly quickly for the beauty queen. She was evicted from her Trump Place apartment, which Trump provides the pageant winner during her reign. Conner was sharing the apartment with Miss Teen USA Katie Blair, 18, the Miss Montana Teen USA. According to published reports, the two were spotted kissing in public last week. Barring a last-minute surprise, Conner won't make it to Las Vegas today, but Miss America 2006 Jennifer Berry is in town for the Las Vegas premiere of Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky Balboa." The nation's hottest nightclub scene has become a battle royale, and the potential for celebrity drama rarely has been higher. Publicity magnet Britney Spears is back, hoping to avoid the headlines created by her recent bizarre behavior. Even before arriving, however, reports of her $300,000 appearance fee at Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace were annoying the competition. "These guys are out of control," said a top hotel executive who asked for anonymity. "First Pure started paying celebrities and Tao followed. It's ridiculous." A Pure exec countered, "That number is not even in the hemisphere," adding that he thinks "it's just jealous competition. Everybody wanted to get her. She's enormously popular." That was it Sunday at the House of Blues as Spears wrapped up what could be called the What's-the-Point Tour. Her four-city mini-tour of House of Blues venues attracted about 1,500 in the 1,800-seat theater but was pronounced a sellout. After DJ Presto One warmed up the crowd for more than an hour with most of Justin Timberlake's hits, Spears came on with four blonde female dancers. Wearing a skimpy pink fuschia top and a denim miniskirt, she lip-synched the same five songs that she went with on the previous stops: "Hit Me Baby," "I'm A Slave," "Breathe on Me," "Do Something" and "Toxic." She thanked the crowd and blew kisses as she left the stage. She didn't win any raves on their first three stops, in San Diego, Anaheim and West Hollywood. Critics and attendees took shots at her for lip-synching during her brief appearances. Breaking News - LOHAN'S 21ST BIRTHDAY PARTY IN VEGAS CALLED OFF Lindsay Lohan's birthday bash in Las Vegas is off. The embattled actress' 21st birthday party slated for July 2 at Pure nightclub inside Caesars Palace will not be going down, Pure Management Group announced Monday. "We support Lindsay and wish her the best as she is taking care of personal matters at this time. Due to the unique circumstances, as of this afternoon, Lindsay's birthday party at Pure nightclub has been canceled. We think the world of her and look forward to working with her in the future." Lohan is currently spending 30 days at Promises, a rehabilitation center in Malibu, Calif., where she's being treated for addictions to alcohol and drugs, including the painkiller OxyContin, according to her father, Michael Lohan. Despite the fact Lohan's present residency is rehab, it seemed as if the party would go on, according a story on E! Online's Web site a few weeks ago. Attorney Michael Heller, a friend of the Lohan family, told producers for VH1's "Best Week Ever" that Lohan was contractually obligated to attend the party at Pure and that she would be in attendance if was still a go. "Lindsay said she's doing the party in Vegas, no matter what," Heller told VH1 in the May 31 story. "Just because you're sober doesn't mean you can't go out and have fun." The cancellation of Lohan's birthday gala is the second major party to get nixed recently in Las Vegas. Paris Hilton's planned Web site launch party, originally scheduled for later this month at Beacher's Madhouse inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, was postponed after the hotel heiress was ordered to spend 45 days in jail for violating terms of her probation by driving on a suspended license. |

One day after she successfully completed a six-week stint of residential and extended care treatment at a Malibu rehab center, Lohan showed up at Pure Nightclub in Caesars Palace at 12:40 a.m. Sunday wearing an alcohol testing ankle bracelet. Lohan flew to Las Vegas to surprise her assistant, Jenni Munro, and check out the nightclub where her 21st birthday party was to have been July 2. Lohan voluntarily chose to wear the monitoring device to Pure "so that there's no question of her sobriety when she goes to places where alcohol is served," her publicist, Leslie Sloane, said in a statement. New monitoring technology allows around-the-clock detection. Late into her four-hour stay at Pure, she was joined by illusionist Criss Angel. They were seen holding hands on the VIP stage and on their way out of the club at closing, about 4:15 a.m. Her group, which included "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad and her on-again boyfriend Brody Jenner, briefly moved upstairs to Lohan's suite before they were all seen piling into Angel's black Rolls Royce. They returned to Caesars about an hour later, when Angel dropped them off. When she headed for the airport late Sunday afternoon, she stopped at the Luxor to say goodbye to Angel, who was waiting outside. |
